Diff Brokerβ Back to Diff Broker

Cookie Policy

Last updated October 05, 2026

Diff Broker is in beta. Features may change, break or be removed, data may be lost, and this document may change as the product develops. Please keep that in mind when you rely on it.

Diff Broker uses only the cookies and browser storage it needs to work. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, so there is no cookie banner to dismiss.

What we store in your browser

  • Session cookie. Keeps you signed in and protects forms against forgery. Strictly necessary; it is removed when you sign out or it expires.
  • Theme preference. If you pick light or dark mode while signed out, it is saved in your browser's local storage (diffbroker-theme) so the page does not flash on the next visit. Signed in, it is saved to your account.
  • Interface state. Small bits of local state, such as which panel you had open, may be kept in your browser to make the interface comfortable.

Analytics

We measure visits with Nullitics, which uses a tiny image request instead of cookies. It receives the page address, referrer, screen width and a country code, and it does not identify you or follow you across sites. Because nothing is stored on your device for this, it needs no cookie.

Third parties

Diff Broker loads avatars from GitHub (avatars.githubusercontent.com). Signing in sends you to github.com, which has its own cookies governed by GitHub's policies. We do not embed social widgets or ad networks.

Your choices

You can delete or block cookies and local storage in your browser settings. If you block the session cookie you will not be able to stay signed in. More about how we handle personal data is in our Privacy Policy.
